The traditional blessing as you blow the shofar is, "Blessed are You oh Lord …who commanded us to hear the voice of the shofar." Notice it’s not ‘who commanded us to blow the shofar.’ The heart of this teaching, is the blessing comes when we hear the sound of the shofar and it resonates in us. This will reconnect us spiritually to everything God is saying and calling us to do.
God has ascended on high with a shout, the Lord has ascended with the blast of a trumpet. Sing songs to God! Sing songs! Sing songs to our King! Sing songs! Psalm 47: 5-6 International Standard Version
Todays blowing of the Shofar comes from Psalm 47: 5. God has ascended on high with a shout, the Lord has ascended with the blast of a trumpet is speaking of God going up to defeat His enemies, and overthrow their kingdoms and establish His throne over all the kingdoms of the earth. Though the enemies of God in the nations and the enemies of God over your life have resisted God's rule in the earth and in your life. In this season of the blowing of trumpets God is bringing victory over every enemy in your life resistant to His reign in your life and over every enemy resistant to His reign in the nations.
Beautiful in elevation, the joy of the whole earth, Is Mount Zion in the far north, The city of the great King. In its palaces, God has made Himself known as a stronghold.
Psalms 48:2-3
Why are the nations restless And the peoples plotting in vain? The kings of the earth take their stand And the rulers conspire together Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying, “Let’s tear their shackles apart And throw their ropes away from us!” He who sits in the heavens laughs, The Lord scoffs at them. Then He will speak to them in His anger And terrify them in His fury, saying, “But as for Me, I have installed My King Upon Zion, My holy mountain.” “I will announce the decree of the Lord: He said to Me, ‘You are My Son, Today I have fathered You. Ask it of Me, and I will certainly give the nations as Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth as Your possession.
