Day 5 Devotions - The POWER to Submit
The power to submit comes from the grace of God. He gives more grace.....
Wherefore he saith, God resists the proud, but gives more grace to the humble. James 4:6
Grace is the power of God working on your behalf without you earning it, qualifying for it, or working for it. It is the unmerited favor of God. It is the divine enabling of God.
Grace is God doing for you what you could not do for yourself. In order to receive this grace we must first seek it, find it and receive it by faith.
Ephesians 2:8, 9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Grace is a gift that comes from God. It is something that is bestowed upon us by the favor of God. And it enables us to work for him, live for him and obey his word. It is received by faith, but it requires our seeking after it.
For by grace are ye saved through faith. But even though it is received by faith it also must be found.
Hebrews 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need.
A person that is humble is one that is quick to respond to and obey the spirit of God, there is easily led by God’s Spirit and by man.
The final step to a tender heart is to rend your hearts, not your garments, (or consecrate yourselves to God).
II Kings 22:20 for you have rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith the LORD.
