Day 4 Devotions - How do you receive a Tender Heart?

II Kings 22:19 says Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, As touching the words which thou hast heard: Because thine heart was tender, and thou hast humbled thyself before the Lord: when thou heardest the word which I spake against this place.

To receive a tender heart a person must be a hearer and doer of the word of God.

Luke 6: 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good, and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of heart his mouth speaketh.

What comes out of your mouth comes from your heart. If your heart is hardened what comes out of your mouth is not coming out of a good treasure but out of an evil treasure.

When a person has a tender heart their words come out of the good treasure of their heart. This person is one who heareth the sayings of Jesus and is a doer of them. This person is characterized by immediate and unconditional submission.

This type of person is yielded to the spirit of God. This is one who has made Jesus Lord of their lives.

I Peter 5: 5, 6 says, Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, be clothed with humility: for God resists the proud, and gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:

In order to humble yourself you have to voluntarily submit to God-ordained authority.

James 4:6-7 says, But he gives more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resists the proud, but he gives grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God and he will draw nigh to you.

One of the things that cause us to be able to resist the temptations of the devil is our submission to God-ordained authority.

When we don’t submit to God-ordained authority we will not be able to resist the devil.

(SUBMIT YOURSELVES TO GOD, RESIST THE DEVIL, AND HE WILL FLEE FROM YOU).

God-Ordained Authority

What is God-ordained authority?

1. It is the authority of the family.

2. It is the authority of the church, the five-fold gift ministries.

3. It is the authority of government, the laws of the land.

Romans 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resists the power, resists the ordinance of God; and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Ephesians 5:21, 22 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the LORD.

The power to submit comes from the grace of God. He gives more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.

To humble your self under the mighty hand of God is to submit to the governmental authority of the five fold ministry gifts within the Body of Christ, which represents the HAND of God.
