Welcome to Day 3 of TENDER HEART JUNE Solemn Assembly of Prayer
Day 3 Devotions - A TENDER HEART OF FORGIVENESS
Ephesians 5:31 says, Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be kind one to another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
The Tender Heart of Forgiveness - The Key to Submission
Without a tender heart to forgive we will never have right relationships, because there can never be true submission without forgiveness.
Without the tender heart to forgive there will always be a short- circuiting of God-ordained covenant relationships. Without the tender heart to forgive there will always be the propensity to develop a hardened heart.
A tenderhearted person is one that has learned that the secret of submission is forgiveness. Why? Because there are no perfect people to be submitted to. And because you have to first be submitted to God-ordained authority before you can be submitted to God, we must learn the secret of submission is forgiveness.
The Key and Process to Forgiveness
The key and process to forgiveness is found in Luke 17: 1-6. Jesus taught us how to forgive in these passages.
3. Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
4. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him
5. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, if ye have faith as the grain of a mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree,
Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it shall obey you Jesus said that the key to forgiveness is having faith as a seed. What is a seed for? A seed is for planting. What does the seed represent in the bible? Our Lord in the book of Luke 8:11 says that the seed is the word of God.
So Jesus was saying, the key to forgiveness is sowing the word of God in your heart as a seed. This enables your faith to increase, which in turn enables you to forgive.
Psalm119:165 says Great peace have they the Love thy law (word) and nothing shall by any means offend them.
In order to forgive you must have faith and that faith must grow in your heart as you speak God’s word into your heart. A carnal man living controlled by his feelings will not be able to forgive because his feelings will always get in the way of what God’s word is saying.
The antithesis of a tender heart is a hardened heart. Un-forgiveness causes one to develop a hardened heart.
Hebrews 3:15-19 Says, While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
