Here are just a few things we've already learned the sounding of the shofar represents: 1) Return — We are putting God back on the throne! 2) An Alarm — God is awakening us from our spiritual slumber! 3) Rededication — We revitalize our commitment to God’s Word! 4) Hearing God’s Voice — He calls us to His wisdom and knowledge! 5) Sacrifice — Abraham was to sacrifice Isaac but God provided a ram! 6) Victory — A Reminder of God’s salvation and deliverance! 7) A Call for Unity — Under the Messiah, Jew and Gentile shall be one! 8) The Shout — Proclaiming Jesus will return with an eternal reward!
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
Psalm 62:8 NKJV
Todays blowing of the Shofar comes from Psalm 62:8; One of the purposes for sounding the trumpet (shofar) was to turn back to God during times of Judgment and crisis to trust in him for refuge from calamity in the Land. Today as we hear the sound of the trumpet let’s return our hearts back to trusting in him to keep us and to cover us from the crisis and the calamities associated with the incremental and increasing judgments coming before His return.
