Day 1 of Clean Heart July Solemn Assembly of Prayer

Welcome to Day 1 of Clean Heart July Solemn Assembly of Prayer

Day 1 Devotion - THE CLEAN HEART -

WALKING IN TRUE REPENTANCE &
LOYALTY

Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart and renew in me

The word “Clean” in the Hebrew is the word “tabor” which means to be fair, bright, innocent, holy. When we speak of the clean heart in the scriptures the first thing that most of us would think about would be moral issues that speaks of the sins of the flesh being cleansed. However, the clean heart deals with something more than just the sins of the flesh, it goes to the roots of those sins and deals with the iniquities of those sins being cleansed creating in us a clean heart that overcomes relational sins of disloyalty in covenant relationships, like adultery, covetousness, hatred, envy, jealousy, murder, etc.

Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, And in sin my mother conceived me.
Psalms 51:5

There are 10 steps from Psalm 51:1-10 that lead us to The Clean Heart. This process begins in verse 1 with God's graciousness or mercy, and progresses until we arrive to the clean heart in verse 10.

Repentance, Loyalty and the Clean Heart

The Clean heart also deals with repentance and Loyalty in covenant relationships with Jesus and others. David prayed give me a clean heart after he had committed the sin against God concerning killing Uriah and committing adultery with his wife Bathsheba.

In praying for God to give him a clean heart he was saying forgive me and turn me from being disloyal with Uriah and from being impure and selfish in my motives in dealing with others. The clean heart deals with turning from selfish, lustful sins to Jesus. Not just turning from our sins, but turning to Jesus.

Repent ye and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord; THAT HE MAY SEND JESUS...

To arrive at the clean heart we have to get back to true repentance: The goal of true repentance is not just turning from sin, but turning to Jesus, who blots out our sins.

The goal of true repentance is not turning from sins only, but that your sins may be blotted out as if you never committed the sin.

Becoming like Jesus is the goal of true repentance. Repentance is a process. You don’t repent because you’ve sinned. You repent because you have not arrived at Christ likeness yet.

You repent because you are still more like you than you are like him. Therefore repentance is something you do daily by receiving the water of the word to wash our hearts, making them clean. You repent daily so that you can receive more of him.

To repent you don’t have to have sinned, to repent you just have to look in the word and see something that you’re not doing that he said you could do, see something you’re not walking in that he said you would walk in. When we get becoming like Jesus as our goal we will not receive the Holy Ghost religiously. The Holy Ghost is so you can become like Jesus.

The Holy Ghost causes that word you’ve received to go from your head to your heart. You get the word in your heart and it begins to purge and purify you heart. Then God begins to manifest Jesus through you.

Verse 19 begins by declaring Repent ye and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

Repentance and Conversion is different than confession and forgiveness.

To receive the blessing of Jesus Christ to turn you away from your iniquities you must not just confess your sins to receive forgiveness, you must repent of your sins to be converted.

Conversion is what blots out your sins from showing up in your children’s children.

Conversion deals with the iniquity, causing generational curses to be broken.

Forgiveness releases YOU from the penalty of sin, which is death – eternal separation from God. But in order to be turned from your iniquities, your sins must be blotted out.

The word blotted out means to be smeared with the anointing until that sin is no longer recognizable as having ever been a part of you. In order for this process to take place we first have to repent, to be converted
