CLEAN HEART JULY ONLINE SOLEMN ASSEMBLY OF PRAYER-
July 4th - July 10th
This 7 Day Online Solemn Assembly of Prayer will Challenge you
This Solemn Assembly will dispute the idea that:
1. You can't hear from God.
2. You're not capable of getting your prayers answered.
3. Only certain people can hear from God.
4. God is egocentric: Only wants you for what you can do for Him.
5. You've got to get "right" before you can expect God to talk to you.
During this 7 Day Solemn Assembly you will learn:
1. The 7 Phrases of the LORD'S prayer
2. How God relates to mankind
3. Why God desires to relate to man
4. Who God shares His secrets with
5. How to Encounter God in Prayer
6. How to pray the LORD'S prayer (in the Holy Ghost) not just say the LORD'S prayer.
Jesus’ Understanding of a Clean Heart
To understand having a clean heart we must understand what Jesus was speaking of in the New Testament passage in John 13:10,11.
Jesus saith to him, He that is washed needeth not save to wash his feet, but is clean every whit: and ye are clean, but not all. For he knew who should betray him; therefore said he, Ye are not all clean.
In this passage Jesus was speaking to his disciples about their relationships with him and one another and he refers to Judas when he says, “ye are not all clean,” knowing who would betray him. The Greek word for clean in this passage is the word “Katharos” which means clear.
As he washed their feet he was showing them his commitment to serving them and his loyalty.
As he performed that symbolic act he was revealing to them what he had been doing to them in essence with his words. He had been washing them of their personal agendas and plans, of their desires for prominence and position and had been putting within them a desire for service and love for him and their fellow man, including their enemies.
He had been washing them of the obstacles to covenant relationships - selfishness, self-centeredness, self-serving. He was saying in essence, “You are now clean to serve in loyalty, commitment and faithfulness to me and one another.”
You are now truly my friends. But one of you is not clean, For he knew who would betray him.
The Clean Heart deals with Loyalty and Service in Covenant Relationships.
Loyalty is not just being faithful to do something that someone says when they are around, but it is also the commitment to that persons agenda, program and plan, to stick with what they are doing and why they are doing it.
It is being willing to lay-down your own agenda, plan, program, even your life for the person you are serving. A person could be faithful to do what another person says do, while in their heart they are speaking against that persons program and doubting that person altogether, to the point they began to speak against that person and eventually betray that person.
